death of ozzy
gig fm news
braking news
its a sad day in the rock world. one of our greatest rock gods has been taken from us. last night the legend that is ozzy osborne was brewtaly gunned down while performing last night in brizbon. currently one man is being held for questionning, the suspect a mr clive moody, a 26 year old mechanic is known to be an obsesive fan of all things rock, but an obsesive fan of ozzy most of all. it is believed that mr moody shot the star from the balconies of the stadium where he was playing. it is known that 3 shots hit ozzy and one fatle shot to his head.
we have our australlian corispondent alan peek out in brizbon at the moment. so over to alan.
so alan what actually happened?
alan - well last night at about quarter to ten the police were called to the brizbon arena after hearing of the shooting and mass pannic at the stadium. upon arriving they found paramedics were already at the scene and just taking ozzzy off to hospital. at about quarter to 12 word reached the medias ears that after trying everything they could doctors at the hospital were un able to save ozzy and he had been pronounced dead.. i was speeking to people who were actually at the gig. this is what they had to say.
...it was terrible, the hole pit was in chaos. people running from here to there trying to get out
...
And next, its 25 years ago this week that the minors strike of 1984 took place. A topic that is still hot round the north midlands and also has had an impacting affect on our economy. We have one of our reporters on the field getting your opinions 25 years on.
Yes its 25 years ago the minor strike gripped Britain’s mining community’s heart. Thousands of minors putting down their tools to picket against the ideas that the current prime minister put in place. Those who broke the picket were shunned and even now are shunned in there communities. Heres what Alan Spencer said about his time during the strike?
It wor bad times. Cause of the strike you couldn’t make any money, and when you’ve got a family to feed its bad. Those who broke the strike did wrong butt they did do right by there families. U gotta give em that. If nothing else. Wor hard to survive on note. Bad times.
Heres what Steve stonewall had t say on the strike. He actually broke the strike to save his family from starvation.
Them months were terrible. Bein shunned by your own community is a horrible thing. Even now when I’m walkin down the road people will cross to the other side of the street to get away from me. I feel so terrible for betraying my friends. But I had to brake the strike, when you’ve got 5 hungry kids and are the only bread winner in the family its hard to survive, and in the end it became to difficult so I had to go back to work. I do feel guilty about my friends but what can u do?
And to our next story. It would seem that a new trend for moon shining has come about the north midlands. This highly illegal and dangerous endeavour which criminals have been taking part in is basically the distillation of home brewed alcohols, which can do a rather large amount of damage to whom ever may drink the stuff.
We spoke to bob briars, a local beer producer, to ask him how the moon shine trade affects him.
Well its blooming terrible. In producing this much it’s ruining local legal traders opportunities, cause the moon shine is cheep, but it does no end of damage to the drinkers. Also we normally are losing out on stock cause the blighters nick our stocks. It’s a waste of time and a waste of money on there parts cause nine times out of ten they r found out.
We also spoke to Phil bridges an ex moon shine smuggler who was locked up for 9 years but now reformed. Heres what he had to say
It is a thrill, I won’t lie to u. it’s a thrill when making it, transporting it. And the buzz from drinking it is second to none. But the last is where things generally o wrong, cause its made with lots of impurities, which we know but generally the punters don’t. It can make you go blind for a long period. I remember one time when I was brewing I had a taster got a little bit wasted and couldn’t c for a week. But then I was caught, and that brought me round, mind u time in the nick generally does.
And would u have any words for any new moon shine tycoons?
Yes. I would. Don’t do it cause one day your good luck will come back and bite u on the ass.
And now to round of the news, it’s the weather. Oh and what a surprise, its gonna rain again, with a dab of sun on Thursday. Coming up next it’s the last our of power, taking u through to Wednesday morning.
